I’ve just finished the finals drawings for the story “The Winter of the River” by Elizabeth JM Walker. It is one of seven stories in a book soon to be published “The Boy Who Owned The Forest” by Handersen Publishing. It’s exciting I think.
I have to thank both Elizabeth and Nicole and Tevin from Handersen or their patience in waiting for these. I hope it’s worth it.
I have revamped the colour pictures I painted for The Maze by Elizabeth J.M. Walkers for here fairy tales. The didn’t quite look right just scannned so I worked them over with pencils.
The book is to be published by Handersen Publishing. Have a look at their site for more exiting stuff while we all wait for me to finish this.
I’ve been working away at drawing for a collection of Elizabeth J.M. Walker’s fairy tales. I have made two zines previously with her, “The Boy Who Owned the Forest” and “The Maze”, but she went and found a real book publisher, Handersen Publishing, and they’re going to make a real fancy book.
It will be out this year, not sure when, but I’m trying my best to finish off the pictures. The main problem being is that I start new ones before I finish the ones I’m working on. There’s so much I want to draw.
It’s two months from today that the opening of another crappy picture party where I’ll be presenting my latest embarrassments upon the general public. Who know what I’ll have done by then as the world keeps distracting me with stupid life things.
So on the off chance you’re remotely interested.
Opening night Friday the 26th August 2016 – 6pm to 8pm.
Open Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of August – 10am to 5pm.
At the Watch House, 179 Darling Street Balmain, New South Wales, Australia.
I thought I’d put up this little picture. It’s all getting a bit messy. I knew I should have kept out of the art world. I’ll just keep doing what I do best.
I’m making a little trip down the the nations capital for the Canberra Zine Emporiumon Sunday the 23rd at Gorman House. Not sure where that is, but if you’re in the area, come and pester me.
There is also something the day before at the Museum of Democracywhere they’ll be launching the Zine Lounge. I’ll have a bunch of zines you can play with and I think there will be zine making workshop.
Lastly my friend Elizabeth JMW sent me a review of “The Maze” a story of hers I illustrated. Nice things were said. You will be able to pick p a copy off me in Canberra should you wish.
I’ll be at Eveleigh Artisans Markets this Sunday the 7th of April, 10am to 3pm. It will be moved to inside the Carriageworks building, which is just next door, so don’t panic if you see it’s not under the usual shed bit. I have a bunch of new things, including a new book by Elizabeth JMW. I’m just putting the finishing touches to her story The Maze.
Hope to see you there. Click HEREfor more information.
Yay. Canadian writer Elizabeth JMW’s new zine 398#12, The Candy Maker’s Daughter is out now. The story is well brilliant as I was lucky enough to have a sneaky read, and the cover is designed by little ole me.
What is the secret ingredient to the Candy Maker’s most delicious chocolates? Love. But since the death of his wife, his one true love, the Candy Maker has lost the ability to create his most special chocolates. When a foreign king demands the chocolates, the Candy Maker’s Daughter takes it upon herself to go on a journey to find true love and save her father. But will her heart ever find what she is seeking? And will she make it back in time to save her father?
398 is a litzine of fairy-tale-like stories by Elizabeth J. M. W.
398#12 is just one story: The Candy Maker’s Daughter, but it is much longer than previous 398 stories. This zine is 1/2 sized, 44pages and text heavy.
