Making a little test book…..

…..as I agreed to enter a book binding thing of binding a text block based on a letter by Nicolas Baudin disputing Captain Cook’s findings of Terra Nullius.

I’m trying some things out as I’ve made my own cords that I want visible on the inside of the book, and parts of the outside. Not sure how I feel about them on the outside yet. Glad I’ve done a dummy run.

Not sure how I feel about the raised thread on the image.

Book cover for me

I’m binding up a conference paper from the NSW bookbinders guild and made my own cover and endpapers as there isn’t one already.

But I like my new friends so will probably turn it into a new zine at some stage.

Bonus prints if you buy The Boy Who Owned The Forest

This book has been out for a while now. I seem to have a few lying around the house, so as a bonus I have printed two A4 posters of the pictures from the story in colour. Available now from my ETSY shop. Until I sell out, and there’s not many.

Navigating this Maze

I have revamped the colour pictures I painted for The Maze by Elizabeth J.M. Walkers for here fairy tales. The didn’t quite look right just scannned so I worked them over with pencils.

The book is to be published by Handersen Publishing.  Have a look at their site for more exiting stuff while we all wait for me to finish this.

I’ve drawn up the tile pages for Elizabeth J.M. Walkers fairy tales. Just a few more pictures to finish off by the end of the month.

The it’s up to Handersen Publishing to make some sort of sense of my mess. At least the stories will be good.

Then I can rest. Until the next thing.

Getting there

So it’s still in the works, but I’m drawing away when I can to get Elizabeth J. M. Walker’s book of tales, “The Boy Who Owned The Forest,” finished.

Here is a preview of one of my favourite stories “The Winter Of The River.” There is still much to do, but I’ll get there.

Fairy Tales

DSC03528.jpg

I’ve been working away at drawing for a collection of Elizabeth J.M. Walker’s fairy tales. I have made two zines previously with her, “The Boy Who Owned the Forest” and “The Maze”, but she went and found a real book publisher, Handersen Publishing, and they’re going to make a real fancy book.

It will be out this year, not sure when, but I’m trying my best to finish off the pictures. The main problem being is that I start new ones before I finish the ones I’m working on. There’s so much I want to draw.

These are pictures for the story “The Tree”.

The poor deluded souls

So I’m running a zine workshop at Chatswood Library this Sunday the 20th of November. Not sure if they’re under the illusion that I know what I’m doing.

They also seem concerned that there haven’t been many takers, and seem to think that I may be able to get people in. The don’t know how unpopular I am. Poor things.

It’s from 14 and up, so anyone can come really. If you’re bored and have nothing better to do, come and make fun of me.

It’s FREE

I should be there.

Songs of Protest 22 – Songs of Blue

So I’ve started again. I still probably have a least enough protesters for another 20, but one zine a week for the next couple of months should do it.

Feel free not to buy it like the last 21 HERE.
