So I have the Manly Zine Fair on the 21st at Manly Library. Come along because as well as trying to sell my zines I’ll also be trying to teach how to make your own books.
And, Mr Scott Gibson hs got a troop of fine actors togther for the first run of the hit spectacular Waffy Waff and the Big Dream Screen. I’m working on some backdrops, which we hope to get done it time, or Scott going to put me into the cage as a rag doll in his next cage fight.
So there is a lot in the works, but still so much to do. One thing I’ve been working on for way too long, is the story of my fiend Elizabeth JMW’s grandparents during World War II. It’s a wordless sort of comic. And now I think I’m almost there.
I’m hoping to have it ready for the Manly Zine Fair, where I will be running a simple bookbinding workshop. It’s on the 21st of September outside the Manly Library. Check my EVENTS page for more details. There are a few more things in the pipeline, including the second of my collaborative fashion Zines with Katie Haegele, which will also be ready about this time. You can get it at the Zine fair or from my ESTY shop HERE.
I’ll be having a stall again at the Enmore Curated Markets this Sunday the 11th of August. It’s at the back of the Vic on the Park Hotel, 2 Addison Rd Enmore NSW, from 11am till about 4pm. And for all you drunks you can grab one of your fancy boutique beers too I suppose. Saying that it’s fine for kids as it’s not in the pub, and you can pretty much avoid the drunks.
Come and visit. I should have some new exciting stuff. Maybe
I’ve made a new zine with one of my favorite zine makers. The notoriousKatie Haegele from Pennsylvania. It’s the story of a little Cheetah-print dress, but as with here stories it’s always about so much more. Zine fairs, unrequited love, relationships, and where you feel at home.
Get it from me this Sunday the 7th of July at Eveleigh Artisans Market, in Wilson Street, Darlington – 10am to 3pm. Come and say hello. I’ll need a bit of cheering up.
We’ve been meaning to get around to this for a while, but it’s finally done. I’m happy to brag about this little zine with my pictures to Katies story about a dress. It has everything, fashion, zine fairs, love and not love. Out soon through ETSY or when I’m next at Eveleigh Artisans market.
I probably over exaggerated, as I think I sold three of the original print run, of 10, but yes, it’s back!
Other Goose, familiar and unfamiliar nursery rhymes. Get it now on ETSY, which has been terrible of late. It used to be pretty good, but now when they send out their junk mail, it’s all home-wares, jewelry and inspirational posters. Looks like the art has been sidelined once again.
I’ll have to look somewhere else to sell my garbage.
There are some new exciting things coming up, but as nothing is set in stone, I’ll keep it under wraps.
Thank you to the few brave souls who made it to the last Eveleigh Market (deluge). You made my day. Hopefully the next one will be a bit drier. I have to got through a few things to check everything is OK, and will have to make some new stock. I will most likely be at the next market on Sunday the 7th of July. Hope to see you then.
My next big adventure will be at the MCA Zine Fair on Sunday the 26th of May 11am to 4pm. All the Superstars of the ZINE world will be there I suppose. It’s a great chance to buy lots of cheap art and literature that you pretty much won’t find anywhere else. As there’s no money in it, you won’t find this stuff at Comic Festivals, book shops, or boutique design markets. Get down there and see the future of publishing. Or just grab something that will never see the light of day again.
