I’ll be having a stall at the Eveleigh Artisans Market this Sunday the 3rd of Febraury, 10am to 3pm. Come and say hello. It’s the first of the year. And maybe my last. I’ll see how I feel.
Bookbinding
I’d just like to thank all those who came to the bookbinding workshop I ran. It was a pleasure, and all your hard work made my job easier. I hope you learned a little and have fun filling your notebooks with writing, drawing or whatever you feel like.
I’ve started a new page where I will put information about bookbinding. There is a link to the NSW Guild Of Craft Bookbinders, who have lots of information on where to buy supplies. I’m thinking of starting a blog about bookbinding too. Stay tuned for more.
For those of you who are interested I will be at the Eveleigh Markets in Darlington, not far from Redfern Station, on Sunday the 3rd of February. Come and say hello if you wish.
Bookbinding for kids
I have been roped in to give a workshop of basic journal binding at Haymarket and Ultimo libraries on the 23rd of January. The classes are for 12 to 18 year olds, but sneak in if you feel like it. I don’t care. For more details click the picture above, or check details below. I think that all the spaces have been booked out at Haymarket, but there are some still available at Ultimo. I was supposedly going to do less of these things, but there are more events I will be at. Look in to see what they are. 243 Wilson St, Darlington NSW 2008 [near Redfern Station].

Very soon I will be putting the finishing touches to the Waffy Waf epic with my friend Scott Gibson. We’ve both had enough and want to get it out there. We’re going to lock ourselves in a room until it’s done or we’re dead. Most likely the first. Keep an eye out for details.
Special delivery

I thought I’d try and go commercial and make a new Christmas card for this year, but as far as I can tell I haven’t sold one of these. But I think it’s more to do with the fact that it doesn’t say “MERRY CHRISTMAS” loudly on the front. The picture is based on a woman I’ve seen around Redfern who rides a bike and has a bubble machine set up on the back so she shall have bubble wherever she goes. Saying that, Rosina tells me that she thinks it’s the person who is officially gender neutral. But I left my version as a woman, or a cute guy in a dress, or just a person.
Nothing

There’s nothing to report as I have no plans. No markets. No exhibitions. Just bumming around the house, continuing my sabbatical.
For those of you who need last minute presents, my ETSY shop is stocked up, and I have calendars and T-Shirts available on Redbubble, and for those really last minute purchases you can always go to Platform 72 or Earth Kid, where I have a few items for sale.
Markets this Sunday
I will have a stall at the Eveleigh Artisans Market, Sunday the 2nd of December, 10am to 3pm. My lovely friend Janet will be there, holding fort. Go and visit for those lovely Christmas goodies.

I have two new zines out. “Fairy Princess Dinosaurs,” a brand new colouring book. And, “Ghosts I Have Seen,” by Violet Tweedale, a new project by my friend in New Jersey, Joseph Carlough. He’s putting out the book in chapters illustrated by the worlds finest, (like me). This is the first in the series. More soon. But you can buy it off me at the markets or HERE.
No more shopping
Winners, and losers.
Well we’re all winners really, but I had a sum total of two entries for my colouring competition. But what entries they are! The first is by Irene Nicholas, graphic design freak, and accomplished colouring inner. I wrote to her to tell her the good news and then she forwarded the second entry by her friend Marie. I am most impressed. So I’ll be sending them a bunch of stuff, including original drawings that may one day be worth something. I feel almost bad, since nobody else entered, it looks as though they only won because they entered. Well that’s of course is true, but I really like these, and it they most likely would have won even if there was more competition. Anyway it pays to make the effort, and so they get stuff, and nobody else will, because you couldn’t be bothered. Don’t feel too bad as I will run another competition next year.
Free stuff. Yeah.
