Photo Poems

I’m working on a new ziney book, of my photo poems. It may take a while, like everything else. But I think I have to get this out there. Hopefully soon. I started using old magazine pictures and just started writing speech bubbles of garbage that really had nothing to do with the pictures. Not like when they have a funny photo caption competition, but just sort of odd rhymes and nonsense that came into my head when I started writing.
Here’s an example.

New Other Goose

I’m just putting the finishing touches to my new collection of Nursery Rhymes. They’ll be available shortly on ETSY. And they should be ready for Saturday where I’m holding a stall at Redwater Markets, just around the corner from my little house here. If it doesn’t rain of course .If it does, I’m not going anywhere.

The Candy Maker’s Daughter by elizabeth JMW

Yay. Canadian writer Elizabeth JMW’s new zine 398#12, The Candy Maker’s Daughter is out now. The story is well brilliant as I was lucky enough to have a sneaky read, and the cover is designed by little ole me.

Buy it here.

Elizabeth JMW, Candy Maker’s Daughter

What is the secret ingredient to the Candy Maker’s most delicious chocolates? Love. But since the death of his wife, his one true love, the Candy Maker has lost the ability to create his most special chocolates. When a foreign king demands the chocolates, the Candy Maker’s Daughter takes it upon herself to go on a journey to find true love and save her father. But will her heart ever find what she is seeking? And will she make it back in time to save her father?

398 is a litzine of fairy-tale-like stories by Elizabeth J. M. W.

398#12 is just one story: The Candy Maker’s Daughter, but it is much longer than previous 398 stories. This zine is 1/2 sized, 44pages and text heavy.

It’s all over for now.

Thank you all who came, and I’m sad about those who couldn’t make it, but it’s OK. I’ll live. And maybe next time, if I ever do it again.

I’ll post highlights later.

But no rest for the wicked. I have to make things tomorrow for Platform 72 for their lovely shop who will be selling my wares.

Busy, busy, busy…..

I’ve been busy painting, but I’ll keep them under wraps until the end of the month where you can see it all live. And yes there will be some cat paintings, but not all will have cats, so get in early if you need cats. Otherwise it’s just me and my head. You have been warned.

And It will all be here, at the Watch House 179 Darling Street, Balmain Sydney Australia.

Opening Night is Friday the 29th of June 6 to 8pm, and the exhibition will be open on Saturday the 30th June and Sunday the 1st of July from 10am to 5pm.

I hoping to get my friend Scott Gibson to do a performance on the Saturday which ties in to some illustrating work I’m doing for a book we’re working on together.

And of course, my friend Jan Blake is presenting new works and reworks of her famous assemblages. Relentless.

Stay tuned for more information and exciting news.

Here’s some pictures keeping me busy.
