Canberra Zine Emporium – this Saturday the 23rd of March!!!!! 11am to 4pm

For those of you who are in this countries capital, I’ll be at the Canberra Zine Emporium, Saturday the 23rd of March (this coming Saturday). It’s in Rabaul Lane in Canberra City from 11am to 4pm. Unless it rains it will be here:Canberra Theatre – Foyer, Located: Civic Square, London Circuit

First novella – Now in print – The Universe is Out There – Pilgrimms Progressive Rock!

It’s only taken 5 years, but I finally got this printed. Hopefully we won’t be waiting this long for the next installment.

My first novella, is a story of two Pilgrimms going on a journey to find the famed Universe City. They don’t know when they start their travels, when they leave the land of toil, with leaves of oil and the soil made of rust that the Universe City is their destination.

Join them as they meet many new friends, including Jezebel Truelove, a jilted bride rat, and Ken Do, the hairy man. Worry for them when they face many trials, such as crossing the the cross roads, and the their journey through the undergrounds.

48 page book, with numerous black and white illustrations by little old me. 21cm X 13cm, with fancy colour cover.

The book is suitable for children but I wasn’t really writing it targeting anyone in particular. I just wrote the little chapters one a day in July 2008.

Includes many references to yummy food.

Where I won’t be

Just so you know, I won’t be at the Eveleigh Markets this Sunday. I can’t be bothered. I should be at the April markets, but then again…..

I will however be in Canberra later on the 23rd of March at the CanberraZine Emporium. So if you’re there come and say hello.

I’m working on a new zine for Elizabeth JMW

Actually I’m working on two. One based on her grandparents story in WWII, and this, for a story called The Maze. I read Elizabeth’s zines a couple of years ago and asked if I could do some illustrated versions of her stories. Then I kept on getting distracted. But I’m hoping to get this done soon. You can find “The Boy Who Owned The Forest,” which I actually finished and her latest zine 398#12 which I drew the cover for, by clicking on the picture.
Hopefully there will be more really soon.

Eveleigh Markets this Sunday the 3rd

I’ll be having a stall at the Eveleigh Artisans Market this Sunday the 3rd of Febraury, 10am to 3pm. Come and say hello. It’s the first of the year. And maybe my last. I’ll see how I feel.

Bookbinding

I’d just like to thank all those who came to the bookbinding workshop I ran. It was a pleasure, and all your hard work made my job easier. I hope you learned a little and have fun filling your notebooks with writing, drawing or whatever you feel like.

I’ve started a new page where I will put information about bookbinding. There is a link to the NSW Guild Of Craft Bookbinders, who have lots of information on where to buy supplies. I’m thinking of starting a blog about bookbinding too. Stay tuned for more.
